1) Practice deep breathing. Smell the roses and then blow out the candles. Repeat 5 times.
2) Open mouth. Place tongue behind teeth and then pull tongue back over roof of mouth. Hold 2-3 seconds. Repeat 5 times. Swallow between as needed.
3) Hold “EEE…” sound going from low pitch to high pitch. Repeat 5 times.
4) Push tongue tip up on roof of mouth. Hold 2-3 seconds. Repeat 5 times.
5) Hold tip of tongue between teeth and swallow. Repeats 5 times.
6) Complete an effortful swallow as if swallowing a large grape. Repeat 5 times.
7) Move tongue from side to side pushing against cheek. Repeat 10 times.
8) Trace full circle around lips with tongue. Repeat 10 times.
9) Puff cheeks out and hold 5 seconds. Repeat 10 times.
10) Push lips tightly together and pop open. Repeat 10 times.
11) Place spoon just past lips. Press lips tightly together while pulling on spoon. Repeat 5 times.
12 Repeat “Pa, Ta, Ka” increasing speed as appropriate while maintaining clarity. Complete 10 sets.
