Grit & Grace in the face of ALS
Prayer for a Miracle
God of all creation,
You who spoke a simple command
And brought forth light from the darkness,
I ask you now to send forth
Your miracle-working power to heal me.
You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind
And by speaking a simple command,
You empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power
To all those in need.
I ask you to send forth your healing power into
My body and give me the strength to fight this illness.
I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ,
Your Son, who lives and reigns with you and
The Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Healing Prayer from ALS
Almighty God, Heavenly Father in Jesus’ name, I bind and renounce the spirit of death, the spirit of fear, the power of this negative medical report, and the word curses that have come from my own mouth and from those around me, this generational curse called ALS and all other diseases, known or unknown attacking my body. I release the Spirit of the Living God to flow throughout my entire body.
I speak LIFE and His peace into the nerve cells in my brain and into the very core of my spinal cord. I release the healing power of the Holy Spirit to flow from the very center of my spinal cord and work its way throughout the rest of my body. I command my motor neurons to be regenerated. I speak resurrection life into dead motor neurons and that they be disease free, healthy, strong, and function perfectly normal. I come against all forms of paralysis. I command the muscles, ligaments, tendons and nerves that control my ability to speak, swallow, and breathe to stop atrophying and return to normal size and strength. I say speak, swallow, and breathe for the glory of my Lord.
I command my body to stop wasting away, gain back the weight necessary to live a healthy, normal life. The muscles of my arms, legs and hands shall not be affected by this disease. I am a temple of the Holy Spirit and this premature death has no legal right to inhabit this temple of mine. I plead the power of the redemptive blood of Jesus’ Christ over my body and the rest of my family. This disease dies within my body this instant and it cannot move and have its way within me or in my future generations.
I ask these things in the Mighty Name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
