Researcher, Librarian, Music Educator, Composer

I grew up most of my early childhood years in Asheville, NC. Dad was a career Army MSGT with Special Operation Forces. Family stationed in Hanau, Germany for 3 years, where I started 1st & 2nd grade. Learned quite a bit of German! Family stationed at Ft. Belvoir, VA twice. Finished High School in Alexandria, VA.

Attended the University of NC at Greensboro (UNCG) for both Undergraduate (1980) and Graduate School (1983) with a Master of Music Degree in Music Education. Primary instrument: Organ. Honorary Pi Kappa Lambda (1983). Member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Music Fraternity, Iota Epsilon Chapter (1977), and Orpheus Award Recipient (April 1994) for “Long Lasting Contributions to Music in America.”

Worked as a Music Librarian at UNCG in the School of Music for 31 years before retiring.

My Music Ministry as Church Organist and Choir Director spanned a total of 50 years.

Taught private piano lessons for 30 years.
